In a project to encourage more summer customers and increase the size of their dining space, The Red Lion public house employed us to improve on the grey concrete paving slabs which formed their outside area overlooking the car park.
Although the slabs were reasonably level – so left in place – we constructed raised timber planters using new pressure treated sleepers and an overhead post and mini bearer Pergola system. We supplied and planted rootball Taxus Bacatta (Yew Hedging) to screen the car park area.
All this together created a very intimate enclosed space which when furnished with chairs, tables and parasols provided for a very successful extended dining space.
