We were approached by May Gurney LTD (Kier Group) to discuss alternative surfacing for the main footpath connecting the Norwich Forum and the recently developed Chapelfield Shopping Mall. Despite repairs the existing resin bound surface had failed due to heavy pedestrian traffic.
With input from Norwich City Council, the church diocese and ourselves the project specification and administration was provided by Reynolds/Jury Architects.
75mm thick sandstone flags were laid single width and random lengths. The existing clay drainage pipes were all pressure cleaned and new channel drains were laid and connected to intercept surface water.
The whole project was delivered on time and judged to be a great success by all the parishioners.
